Exploring World Faiths

Status:Active, open to new members
Group email: Exploring World Faiths group
When: Monthly on Fridays
The last Friday of the month

Group leader: Lynne Stone who has taught world religions for 40 years.
Venue: House in Brampton.
Time: Last Friday in the month at 10.30am or 2pm.

This group might be of interest to members who are curious about religion and would like to know more about the ideas and practices within the different world religions. Exploring the origins of early human feelings of awe and wonder, which clearly led to ideas about something spiritual, as seen in animistic practices, would be an appropriate starting point. The next stage would be looking at the development of organised religions in the Far East such as: Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism and Sikhism followed by the Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam in the Middle East.
Members would hopefully bring any personal knowledge and experience to the group sessions to use in discussions.
Books and artefacts would be provided.
